Training Camp Program

Our training program consists of a two week time period.  Within these two weeks several stages will happen in the training process of your puppy/dog.

Stage 1 – evaluation and bonding stage

We will evaluate your pet’s behaviors and establish both trust and respect with your pet.  This stage can consist from 1-3 days (more is rare cases)

Stage 2 – teaching stage

We will spend this time teaching your pet commands and what actions are expected with those commands.  This stage can take 4-10 days depending on what the pet needs to work on.

Stage 3 – Re-enforcing stage

We will work with your pet consistently and continuously on the commands taught to him/her earlier in their stay.  This stage is to re-enforce the information the pet has learned with us.

Stage 4 – Take home stage

We will provide a one hour personal training lesson for you with your pet to pass along the information the pet has learned.  We will teach you how to communicate the commands your pet has been taught and how to continue the re-enforcement stage continuously after taking your pet home.

Our training program offers continuous support once your pet is taken home.  We will schedule one follow up visit around 2 weeks after the pet goes home to evaluate the progress made between owner and pet.

Our program is designed for one on one time with your pet.  Due to the nature of our training design, appointments and reservations must be made in order to schedule your pet’s training.  We will only take on one pet at any given time for training.  A reservation of $200 is required to schedule your training camp.  The training camp may be cancelled with a two week notice.  If the camp is not cancelled with at least a two week notice, your reservation fee will not be refunded.

The program teaches the following…

  • Sit and stay
  • Down and stay
  • Loose Leash and off-leash walking
  • Come on Command (outside, off-leash, with distractions)
  • Greeting manners (not jumping)
  • Waiting politely at doors and gates when they are opened until released
  • Waiting politely for meals until released

We will also work on any chewing, nipping habits.  Your dog will also be socialized with some of our pets both cats and dogs (unless specified otherwise by the owner).

At the time of bringing your pet to our home for their training camp, proof of UTD vaccinations will need to be provided.  Food will need to be provided for the two week stay as well.  We have all other materials necessary for caring for your pet in our home.
